Metronet: fine them, then sack them
14 March 2007
Responding to the latest report by PPP arbiter Chris Bolt on Metronet. Darren Johnson has said that the company should be made to pay up before they go.
Darren Johnson, a Green Party member of the London Assembly commented:
"Metronet has proved completely incapable of delivering the service improvements and station refurbishments specified under the PPP. Londoners should not pay a penny towards the cost of Metronet's incompetence, nor should the Mayor allow let them cut corners on the contracts. It's time for the Government to step in with legislation to end their contract and boot them off the London Underground, as they have simply failed to deliver. We should fine them, then sack them."
